Rehearsals

Chorus rehearsals will resume starting January 12th.  Please check the music website chorus calendar for dates.  We only have five rehearsals before the large group performance evaluation so it is imperative that students attend every rehearsal.  Have a fantastic holiday break!

Cleaning

The music room is in need of disinfecting wipes to sanitize the keyboards and other instruments.  Since every child in the building plays the instruments it is important to keep them clean.  Donations of disinfecting wipes are greatly appreciated.

Recorder Karate

It is time to start preparing for Recorder Karate!   This a fun and exciting program to inspire the students to progress in their musical skills.  This is a required part of the music curriculum for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.  Each student needs his or her own soprano recorder.  If your child does not have a recorder of his/her own, you may purchase one from your local music store.  They generally cost around $6.00.  Please put your child's name on the recorder.  Each student should bring his/her recorder to music starting in January. 

Musical

I am so very proud of all the students that participated in the Dec. 8th musical.  It was a huge success!   I feel that the students truly delivered the message of generosity and compassion in a powerful way.  Thank you to the parents and teachers who made this possible for our students.

We Can Make a Difference

The 3rd and 4th graders are diligently working on their musical titled We Can Make a Difference.  I am always amazed how much the students at Chalker are willing to help those in need within our community and beyond.  I was inspired to choose this musical because of the generosity that our Chalker students display.  Even if your child is not participating in this musical, I would like to invite you to come and witness the talent and kind hearts of these students.

The night of the program, students are to report to the gym no later than 6:40 p.m. for warm-up and last minute details.  Students are to wear blue jeans, a Chalker t-shirt, and athletic shoes.  I look forward to seeing all of you there.
