Please, please, please: Keep it Simple, Keep it Plain, and Keep it Generic.
- I suggest you first shop at the Dollar Tree. Most of these items are there for only, you guessed it, a $1.00.
1 book bag Standard size, (They don't need luggage! NO WHEELS PLEASE.)
1 3-ring binder, 1" size, clear plastic insert cover sleeve (for title sheet), inside pockets, white or black.
1 pkg of 8 dividers for the binder, Not plastic, we label them.
5 solid-colored, plain, pocket folders with center brads. (blue-green-orange-red-yellow) Not plastic, we label them.
1 pkg. wide-ruled notebook paper
2 pkgs. #2 pencils
1 set markers for coloring (6-8-10 colors)
12 set pack of colored pencils (used the most)
1 pkg of crayons
1 black "Sharpie" medium point
1 black "Sharpie" fine point
pkg. black pens (5-6 pens)
5 highlighters, neon colored
(yellow or lime or light pink)
1 Fiskars scissors - student size, pointed are fine - if your child knows how to use them safely.
1 bottle of rubber cement
For the Class:
1 box of tissue
1 roll of paper towels
1 box of quart-sized "zipper top" baggies
1 pkg. of stickers, about stamp-size.
Need between 12-20.
Any design is fine.
Good to Know:
Regardless of the begging, please don't send your child to school
with things that are "hyped-up". They create a
distraction.
If saying "no" creates an unpleasant trip to the store for you, tell your child that these are my class rules. I'll "take the heat".
Another hint... periodically check your child's backpack to clear out the items that are "smuggled in".
Also, If you can't get these items, I have plenty of supplies on hand that can be given to the children for their use. Don't stress!
