Thanksgiving Break!

Hello,

Please review and return any progress reports that were sent home last Friday.

Assessments:

Math: Chapter 9 (Wed)

Thursday: DOL

Friday: spelling

Social Studies:

The students have been given an assignment this week to begin their Civil War ABC books.  The students should find topics (pertaining the the Civil War) that correlate with each letter of the Alphabet.  For example, "A" could represent Abraham Lincoln.  Afterwards, the students should write a brief synopsis of each topic (3-4 sentences).  The students will have an adequate amount of time to complete this project, but I recommend each student to take advantage of this head start.

Throughout the week I will be assigning various sections of this project. 

Please do not allow students to copy from the internet.  I would like for students to use their books and their notes.  I understand that some letters will require additional resources; however, if other resources are used please encourage your child to put the information into his or her own words.  I will be reviewing each booklet, and points will be deducted if the material is not authentic.

Election Week!

Hello,

We are currently planning our marble party, go Eagles! The students actually declined the option of ordering pizza.  They actually wanted to have a pot luck lunch:)  I told the students on Friday to get permission for the dishes that they have so graciously volunteered.  If you are able to donate food or  your time please let me know.

Monday is the chosen day for the marble party.

Please review division with your child at home.  We will continue to review this subject for several weeks.

We will also begin our study of pronouns in grammar.

The students will begin to write their autobiographies.
