The students have been learning about the Scientific Method and various words that scientists need to know before doing experiments. A few days ago, we had a lot of fun doing an experiment with Mentos and Coke. We used the Scientific Method throughout the experiment. We learned that Coke and Diet Coke both bubble up and overflow when Mentos are added.
Now your child can be scientist at home!! For 10 extra credit points, you and your child can try different combinations to see what happens. For example, you can try different sodas with different types of mints (other than Mentos). All you need to do is: complete the scientific method paper sent home and sign the paper stating that you and your child tried it . I will let the students share their findings in class! Have fun!
