Wow, where did this year go?
Because we have been studying animals and how they grow and change, I would like to ask you to send in a copy of a baby photo of your child. We will be comparing them with what the children look like today. And we'll be drawing a picture of what they'll look like when they are grown up.
Next week your child will be bringing home lots of stuff. From one mother to another: go through it now and save only the things you think will be meaningful. It only gets harder to throw things away the longer you wait.
Next week I will also be sending home some material for you to review and study with your child over the summer:
- a sight word booklet—go through and check for words your child knows or doesn’t know. There are 80 words. You may want to make flashcards for words not known. Or create a set to use in a memory game. Some kids will enjoy seeing how fast they can read a list of words.
- our math workbook—it still has workpages that will provide a review for your child.
I have really enjoyed watching these children mature and learn new skills. Thank you for supporting me in your child’s first year of formal education. I look forward to seeing you in the halls next year!
