Landform Project

Please look for a Landform Project that will be coming home October 1st. This project will tie in with our landform study in social studies. The project will be due October 17th.

I have also sent home Book It, a reading incentive in your child's Friday folder. This will be ongoing from October - March. Please encourage your child to participate so they can earn free pizza coupons and enjoy a pizza party at the end of the school year. They must participate and return their calendars for all 6 months to participate in the pizza party.

Chick-fil-A Night

I am sending a note of thanks to all the parents who took the time out of their busy schedules and joined me in celebrating Teacher of the Month/Year at Chick-fil-A. It was lots of fun and the children had a great time. It meant a lot to me to have you all there. I realize it is very difficult to get out during the week with working parents, after school activities and regular every night duties. I missed seeing the other children but truly understand families just can not do everything. I have special treats for the whole class from Chick-fil-A and I will give them out on Fun Friday. Again, thank you for your support.

Book IT is Here!

Please look in your child's Friday folder this week for a reading program called Book It that we as a class will be participating in.  As an overview, the children will be keeping up with the number of minutes they read for the months of October- March.  Each month the children will hand in their calendar with documentation of their minutes they have read. They then will receive a certificate for a free pizza. If the child hands in their calendars for each month they will be invited to a pizza party at the end of the year. They must have all 6 calendars handed in with documentation and signed. It is exciting and fun for the children. Again, check the Friday folder for the information. Thanks.

Sight word review

I will be testing the children this week on their 50 sight words. I will be sending home a letter informing you what words still need to be worked on before the end of the 9 weeks. Please practice daily with your child. Thank you.

Here's What is Happening This Week!

It is hard to believe but Fall is upon us! This week we have a few things planned.
Tuesday, please join me at Chick-fil-A to celebrate me being selected "Teacher of the Month."
This coincides with the faculty voting me as Teacher of the Year. We will be planning our fun filled evening for Sept. 23rd and 6:00. An invitation went home Friday. I hope to see you all there!

Picture day has been cancelled for this week. Information will be sent home on the new date.

Friday, September 26th is SPIRIT DAY!!! Let's all wear our Chalker clothing or colors (yellow or green) and show our Chalker Spirit. The class with the most participation can win extra recess, popsicles or a popcorn party. Let's win!!!
