MANY THANKS to all parents who attended Open House. We had a great turnout and I hope everyone has a better idea of what your child will be learning this year.
In Social Studies we are continuing out study on the state of Georgia and for the next two weeks will learn about the Creek and Cherokee Indians and where and how they lived in Georgia.
We made a great topographical map of the state of Georgia and painted all the regions a different color. Watch for this to come home - the students are very proud of their work.
In Math, we have been working on addition strategies (counting on, doubles, doubles plus one, number lines) and will continue that this week.
Reading groups are in full swing at school, but please remember to read a little at home. During Open House I passed out an orange September reading log. If your student returns this at the end of the month, I will give them a certificate for a free Personal Pan Pizza at Pizza Hut. We participate in Pizza Hut's BOOK IT! program every year. Each month there will be a new reading log sent home.

transportation change for this day, please let me know!

Thursday, 9/25 - SCHOOL PICTURES will be taken. Order forms will come home.
Friday, 9/26 - CHALKER SPIRIT DAY!! Remember to dress in Chalker colors or Chalker wear.
