Time flies once school begins! Soon, summer will seem like a pleasant dream!
We have been busy learning our new routine and getting everyone settled back in school. There are many new things to learn this year and we have already begun!
Please remember that homework is nightly and must be returned the next day. There is no homework on Fridays or weekends, unless we have a special project due.
Each Monday Spelling, Challenge and Vocabulary words are sent home. Please keeps these words handy as they mayl be used for homework during the same week. The Poem of the Week also comes home on Mondays and should be practiced during daily homework and is then recited individually on Fridays.
Please send a daily snack as our mornings seem very long until our lunch time.

Fri., 8/29 - SPIRIT DAY! Wear "Chalker wear" or green/yellow
Mon., 9/1- LABOR DAY HOLIDAY - no school
Tues., 9/2 - OPEN HOUSE for K-2 -Please arrange for a babysitter and plan to
attend. We will begin at 7:00 p.m. in our classroom.

DONATIONS NEEDED: Outdoor toys (balls, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk), extra snacks (pretzels, crackers, no sugar please), Lysol wipes.
WE ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR!! I hope to see all of you at Open House on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd. Please arrange for a babysitter and come discover all that your child will learn this year in 2nd grade. I'm looking forward to meeting each and every one of you!
