Just a few reminders to bring everyone back to normal after a great Spring break!
Tuesday, (tomorrow) April 15th, we will have an all day field trip to the Chattahoochee Nature Center. We will have a lesson on life cycles. We will have lunch very early and leave school at 10:00 a.m. The field trip begins at 11:00 a.m. and we should arrive back to Chalker by 2:00, in time to pack up and go home. Students do not need to bring anything special, but please check the weather and have your child dress appropriately. We will be outside and walking, so please have them wear tennis shoes and they may need to dress in removeable layers so as the day warms up, they can remove outer layers. They definately need a jacket and comfortable walking shoes.
Next week, beginning Wednesday, April 23rd, we will be taking the CRCT test. Please have your child to school on time - if they arrive late, they will be held in the office until testing is over. Please make sure they have a healthy breakfast and a good nights sleep each day. The testing is long for children this age and and without being rested or being hungry, it will be difficult for them. We will test on Weds., Thurs. and Friday. Makeup tests will be the following week.
**It would be great to have some extra snacks on hand for the testing days. If you would like to send in some peppermints, granola bars, crackers or other healthy snacks, it would be greatly appreciated! We will be taking a snack break during test breaks and the students would really appreciate some food for their brains and hard work!
SPIRIT!!!
Spirit day will be Friday, April 25th (the last day of testing!). Please remind your child to wear Chalker spirit wear or dress in green/yellow. WE HAVE WON SPIRIT DAY THE LAST TWO MONTHS AND ARE STRIVING TO WIN FOR SECOND GRADE FOR THE REST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!!!!
