Here are some suggestions as to what you can do at home to help your child:
· When you are getting ready to eat a sandwich or anything that can be cut into halves and fourths have your child show you how to cut it into halves and fourths.
Here is a game that you can play with your child to help them work on counting money.
Materials: 4 quarters, 6 dimes, 8 nickels, and 10 pennies
Have your child pretend that he/she is a banker.
Give the banker some of the above coins and you keep the rest.
Pretend that you are making a deposit into the bank and have your child count the amount.
Then pretend that you are making a withdrawal and tell your child the amount (for example 38¢) and have your child decide what coins to use and have them count that amount back to you.
Repeat this several times.
Sincerely,
Miss Bennett

Thanks for all of the hard work with the landform projects. They look wonderful. The children were very proud of their work and learned so much. Their presentations were well thought out and informative.
Report cards were sent home last Friday. I hope the new format was easy to read and helpful in gaining insight into your child’s work. Please make sure to send back the signature card and envelope.
We are off and running with the second nine weeks. Be sure to follow our pacing guide on Picasso.
That’s all for now. As always, thanks so much for all you do to support your child’s education. It shows in everything they do.
I can't believe it is already October. We have been busy little Bright Stars. We have completed all of the information for the first nine weeks. I will send report cards home on Friday. These are the new report cards. They have an explanatory rubric on the back. I will also send home a detailed rubric for the entire year. There is only one per family so please put it in a safe place.
Please remember that Wednesday is an early release day.
Thank you to Mrs. Smith for making out flower box beautiful!
