Media Center Mondays

Every Monday we will check out books. Please be sure your child brings his or her books back to school by Monday. If your child keeps his or her books in their bookbag, they will always have it ready for Monday!

Report Cards

Report cards will be going home on Monday October 22nd. Remember Cobb County has only one scheduled conference week in January. If you feel you would like to have a conference prior to this to dicuss your child's report card and progress please let me know. I will be happy to meet with you. Mondays and Thursdays afterschool work best for me. Please let me know if these days won't work with your schedule.

Media Center

We will be checking out new books on Wednesday! Please make sure your child returns his or her books to school and has completed any AR test by then.

Testing!

We will be taking the CoGAT test on next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during the morning. Please make sure that your child gets a good night's rest, eats a nutritional breaksfast, and is present and on time each day of testing!   

Wish Tree!

We could use packs of playing cards and post-it notes. Students love using these during their independent center time. Thanks!

Reminders

Wednesday the school store will be open.Bring your money before school to get some great stuff!

Thursday we will be going to the Media Center to check out books. Please return them to school before Thursday. If your child has an AR book, he or she will need to take their test before Thursday!

What's Going On!

Monday's are Talent Development Days! The students get to go to Mrs. Long's room, one of our gifted teachers, to work on problem solving and critical thinking skills. She really works hard at trying to strech the students' thinking.  A huge part of what she does involves LISTENING and FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS! Something that sounds so easy, but is so hard for first graders. These skill will help students when they take to COGAT at the end of this month. Ask your child to show what he or she did today!
